Char and Lu necklaces are designed to add a little personality to your dog's look. They are decorative pet accessories and should be used accordingly.
Please review these guidelines before using a Char and Lu necklace.
Decorative accessory only
Char and Lu dog necklaces are not walking collars, restraint devices, safety equipment, or leash-attachment products.
Never attach a leash, lead, tether, identification system that requires restraint strength, or other pulling device to a Char and Lu necklace.
Use a properly designed walking collar or harness separately whenever your dog needs to be restrained or walked on a leash.
Supervise while wearing
Supervise your dog while wearing a Char and Lu necklace.
Remove the necklace when your dog will be unattended or in situations where it could become caught or snagged, including crating, rough play, or similar activities.
Char and Lu necklaces are not chew toys. If your dog attempts to chew the necklace, remove it.
Choose the correct size
Select your dog's size using the Char and Lu Size Guide.
Measure a well-fitting collar from end to end, excluding the buckle, and choose the closest Char and Lu size. If your measurement falls between sizes, size up for comfort.
A Char and Lu necklace should sit comfortably without restricting your dog's breathing or normal movement.
If the necklace does not fit properly, discontinue use and select a more appropriate size.
Inspect before use
Check your Char and Lu necklace regularly and before placing it on your dog.
Pay particular attention to the:
- cable
- clasp and hardware
- crimps and connection points
- beads
- personalized letter beads, if applicable
Discontinue use immediately if you notice fraying, stretching, cracking, chewing, loose components, damaged hardware, or any other condition that could affect the necklace's integrity.
Do not attempt to continue using a damaged necklace.
Loose or broken components
A damaged necklace may release beads or other small components.
Keep loose or broken components away from pets and children. Char and Lu necklaces and their components are not toys for pets or children.
If your pet chews or swallows a component or shows signs of distress while wearing the necklace, remove the necklace and contact a veterinarian.
For dogs only
Current Char and Lu dog necklaces are designed for dogs.
They are not designed or tested as cat collars or cat safety equipment. Do not use a Char and Lu dog necklace as a cat collar.
Cleaning and care
To clean your Char and Lu necklace:
- Rinse with warm water.
- Add a small amount of mild soap.
- Wipe clean.
- Allow to air dry completely.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
Inspect the necklace again after cleaning before returning it to your dog.
Damaged or defective products
If your necklace arrives damaged or defective, or you receive something different from what you ordered, contact support@charandlu.com within 7 days of delivery.
Please include your order number and, when possible, a photo showing the issue.
